2020 seasonal flu shot campaign

Wednesday, 7 October 2020
In the context of COVID-19, the Monegasque Authorities recommend that the population have a flu vaccination to better protect everyone's health.
The aim is to limit the spread of the seasonal flu virus as far as possible, while the COVID-19 virus is still in active circulation.

Why this particular recommendation in 2020?

Seasonal flu and COVID, even though they are caused by very different viruses, induce identical symptoms: fever, cough, fatigue, muscle pain. Diagnosis will therefore be easier if an infected person presents these symptoms, but has been vaccinated against flu.

Who can give flu vaccinations?

Doctors, nurses, midwives, pharmacists, as well as the Principality's medical biologists can vaccinate against flu.

Please note: This year, persons having received a care voucher have priority for vaccination by the health professional of their choice.

Arrangements for health insurance cover

All those insured by CCSS and CAMTI can benefit from 100% reimbursement of this vaccination, with no conditions about age* or health.

* a medical prescription is essential for children

For any further information about the vaccination, the Caisses Sociales ask you to seek your GP's advice.
