Applying for a Pension
- Where to apply for a pension
- If the deceased parent (or legal guardian) had a pension from Agirc-Arrco for a Monegasque career
- The request for a survivor's pension must be submitted to the supplementary pension fund to which the deceased parent belonged.
- If the deceased parent (or legal guardian) did not have a pension from Agirc-Arrco for a Monegasque career
- In the event that the death of the parent occurred before 2024
- The request for a survivor's pension must be submitted to the supplementary pension fund to which the deceased parent belonged.
- In the event that the death of the parent occurred in 2024 or later
- The request for a survivor's pension must be submitted to the Service Retraite of the Caisses Sociales de Monaco.
- How to apply for a pension from CMRC
- A single procedure will allow you to claim these rights from CAR and CMRC.
- The request for a survivor's pension must be made to the Service Retraite who will give you an application form and the list of supporting documents to provide.
- The pension rights acquired by (or provided to) the father, mother or legal guardian, may revert to an orphan.
- The format of the request depends on the age of the orphan:
- If the child is a minor: the request is made by the surviving parent or legal guardian.
- If the dependent is an adult: it is drafted personally.

Pension Effective Date
- How is the effective date of the pension set?
- An orphan has twelve months to submit a written request for a survivor's pension, by mail or to our Pensions Reception Service.
- This period runs from the day on which the conditions of entitlement are met.
- After this period, the request will take effect on the first day of the calendar quarter during which it is presented.
- The effective date of your CMRC supplementary survivor's pension will be aligned with that of CAR.

Calculation
- How is the amount of pension calculated
- The amount of the survivor's pension depends on:
- - From the annual value of the point, i.e. €1,5485 as of October 1, 2024
- It is defined by the following formula:
- Monthly Retirement Amount = (number of retirement points) X (rate) X (point value) /12
- - The total number of supplementary retirement points credited to the deceased parent's account, to which a rate is assigned:
- Orphan of father OR mother: 25% of the direct rights acquired by the deceased parent.
- Orphan of father AND mother: 50% of the highest direct rights acquired by the father or mother.
- The following are thus taken into account:
- Points acquired from Agirc-Arrco for Monegasque periods prior to January 1, 2024 and which were transferred by Agirc-Arrco to CMRC
- Points acquired from CMRC for periods of activity, or similar, from January 1, 2024.
